SSP's vacuum salt refining process involves dissolving of salt in water and making a saturated solution of salt which is clarified and clear brine solution produced. Chemicals are added to precipitate out unwanted salts present in the salt. The brine is then filtered and saturated before evaporation where Crystallization takes place. This salt slurry further concentrated in a hydro-cyclone battery to concentration up to 50-60%. This concentrate is fed to a centrifuge, producing salt cakes with 4-5% moisture. This is fed to a dryer through a screw conveyor where the iodization is done.

The salt packaging is done from the silo by a FFS machine in 1 kg. Packs or it can be packed in bags as per requirement.
